Irobot (Apad) 7'' Android tablet - special Aluminum edition - fast 1.2Ghz Rockchip 2808 + free Giftpack (sleeve/stylus/screen protector) Review

Finally here. this I-robot Android 1.5 tablet is the first to come out with an all aluminum body. Its Rockchip 2808 processor make it faster and more powerful than the cheaper Android tablets, based on other chipsets. Not surprising this quickly became the most popular Android tablet version - with thousands sold over the past weeks. For a few dollars more you get a lot more performance and functionality. Its fast WiFi make it a convenient browsing device anywhere near a hotspot and its many apps help you stay connected. On the road, the e-reader functionality and the 720p video playback make it a great entertainment travel partner. In a nutshell: affordable tablet with enhanced functionality, in a portable 7'' format, with the unmatched flexibility and freedom of the Android operating system. - FREE SHIPPING IN LESS THAN A WEEK - AND FREE SLEEVE WHILE IT LASTS.

Buyer beware - Joseph B. Turner - Groton, CT
This is false marketing at it's best. The Rockport chip is not rated at 1.2Ghz. That's an additive rating of it's separate cpu and gpu units. It will NEVER run or be upgradeable to Android 2.1/2.2 etc. The touch screen requires a heavy "finger" and the protective plastic over the screen scratches easily.

Overall, it's outdated right from the box. There's no upgrade potential and uses cheap or inferior materials in it's construction.

Does not include Windows XP TabletPC edition! - -
Although this PC has a nice combination of features and appears to be well designed, it is just running Windows XP pro.

It does NOT come with "Windows XP Tablet PC edition", so I suspect that the ink and recognition features you might expect will be missing, or not up to the standard of a real "TabletPC".

In addition, the stylus is very thin - more like a PDA stylus and is difficult to hold.
